CiviCRM support for Google Tag Manager
If we’re managing your analytics, then we are using Google Tag Manager, a little known tool that simplifies tracking without causing code bloat in the various tracking scripts that can be embedded in your site (like embedding Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn tracking, and a lot more!). Up to now, there was no good way to track transactions in site analytics using CiviCRM data without significant customization. This prevented organizations from, for example, tracking the monetary value of an email campaign or of changes to their website.
A new extension for CiviCRM changes the game and makes it easy to leverage Google Tag Manager to track data across contribution and event pages. We’re currently evaluating this extension for inclusion into Greenleaf ONE.
